Our Local Government includes several departments that ensure the safety and security of our town.

Local authorities are multi-purpose bodies responsible for delivering a broad range of services in relation to roads; traffic; planning; housing; economic and community development; environment, recreation and amenity services; public safety, fire services and maintaining the register of electors.

Police Department

This department is responsible for public safety.

Stockton police officers have four major responsibilities: enforcing laws, preventing crimes, responding to emergencies, and providing support services. Though most people think of police officers as enforcing laws, the other three responsibilities are just as important.

Fire Department

This department is responsible for responding to and preventing fires and providing rescue services.

Stockton firefighters help protect the public in emergency situations. Planning Commission

The Stockton Planning & Zoning Commission hold their regular monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month, unless notified, at the Stockton Town Hall, meetings also begin at 7:00pm.

This department also receives, completes and maintains records of maintenance and inspection work orders. Accesses utility billing paperwork and computer database for customer billing records. Directs calls and visitors to appropriate departments.
